MYUNG MI KIM is the author of PENURY (2009, Omnidawn); COMMONS (2002, UC), DURA (1999, Sun & Moon); and THE BOUNTY (1996, 2000, Chax); and UNDER FLAG (1991, Kelsey Street Press), which won The Multicultural Publisher’s Exchange Award of Merit. Her work has been featured in AMERICAN POETS IN THE 21^ST CENTURY: THE NEW AMERICAN POETICS; MOVING BORDERS: THREE DECADES of INNOVATIVE WRITING BY WOMEN; PREMONITIONS: KAYA ANTHOLOGY OF NEW ASIAN NORTH AMERICAN POETRY, and MAKING MORE WAVES: NEW WRITING BY ASIAN AMERICAN WOMEN. Kim has collaborated with the poet Susan Gevirtz on SPELT and with the poet, visual artist, and translator Norma Cole on a project that appeared in BIG BRIDGE #12. She is the recipient of a fellowship at the Djerassi Resident Artists Program, awards from the Fund for Poetry, a Daesan Foundation Translation Grant, and the State University of New York Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Scholarship and Creative Activity. She has served as Distinguished Visiting Poet at St. Mary’s College, and as Visiting Professor at Oberlin College; Kim currently teaches at the State University of New York at Buffalo.
